Shameless Self-Promotion

· Originally posted on Facebook

Well, I'm back, and I'm back for a reason:

Shameless self-promotion.

It's not that shoveling Preparation H at Walgreens isn't fulfilling. I'm doing my bit for the hemorrhoid-impaired community. It's that I have a little more to say than "Welcome to Walgreens!" Writing is fun. Cashiering and shift leading is not fun.

What's even more fun is someone reading my work. And the height of funosity is someone reading my work and getting something out of it.

Writing is a bit of a cesspool. Everyone thinks they can do it, and the technology makes it easy for them to put their manuscript out there. Unfortunately, their crap gets piled onto my crap, thus obscuring my crap. AI has made the situation worse with people submitting things that they actually only had a small part in writing.

So I'm down to shameless self-promotion. Putting myself out there. Going to conventions and glad-handing publishers so I can pitch one of my novels. I've written four this year, and I'm working on a fifth. Young adult, urban fantasy, romance, speculative apocalypse, and now horror. Take your pick.

If I had known being a lonely bachelor would make me this productive, I'd have encouraged my ex-wife to leave me sooner. Or maybe I did. Details. A life of letters is a life worth living.

If you've read this post this far, thank you. It means something. I hope all of you are well, and I hope you enjoy the work that's available at jasonafeingold.com and the excerpts I'll post from time to time.
